Well,
We bit the bullet and purchased a house in Mesa. We feel extremely blessed and are happy to start making it our home. we are excited to have a backyard for the kids and lots of big pine trees that cover the front of the house. Connor keeps calling it his casa nueva and we are happy to have some more elbow room. I have work to do, but its fun when it is mine, and we have been so blessed with friends and family that have helped us with so much work. Here is a post showing a new RV gate that my dad came down to help me build on a Saturday morning. Thanks pops!

Redneck Adventures- Volume II Chapter VII

For those of you that do not know. My wife and I found out tonight that my illness has gone from a stage 2 to a stage 3. I am not as ill as Terry or Ira (both of whom are stage 4 rednecks because they sure do know how to banjo duel) but I am getting worse. I was sitting with my kids this afternoon, listening to the neighbors cut some of their trees down. They have been roofing and taking all of the old shingles (and nails) and scraps around the place and throwing them into a massive garbage bin that is 8 feet high and 23 feet 5 inches long (yes, i measured it). So, I sat listening to these neighbors cut away on their trees, and I sat there salivating, thinking about the phenomenal firewood that they were making out of these trees. With every loud thump of a log, I imagined sitting out behind our house, watching the smoke rise and imagining the sobe bombs that I could make. So, after my wife got home, I decided to tell her about my idea, to jump in the old shingle bin and chuck out the logs. As I was about half way finished voicing my descriptive plan to my wife, it hit me that my plan lacked intelligence and reason and only proved to my wife once more.....that I am a Redneck from Cornflake. My wife sat with her mouth wide open and just said, "Tim, you are getting into your Master's program in about a month!" The severity of my illness hit me like the snowball that my mom once hit me with, as I lay bare chested in my bedroom, refusing to get up to read scriptures as a family. I know that I would not jump into that dumpster for a pair of new Nike's. OH NO! A tetanus shot is not worth a pair of new shoes! But, for firewood, I may face the fear of stepping on a rusty nail. But, tonight I will not give in to my redneckedness. I shall do my homework, and go to bed. But tomorrow is a new day, and new redneck adventures await.

Alpine trip with the Lees

The Lees invited us to spend 4 days up in Alpine with them and we had a lot of fun! We ate lots of dutch oven cobbler, carne asada, biscuits an gravy,tin foil dinners, smores, hamburgers and hotdogs over the fire, pancakes, bacon, eggs, some fantabulous cookies and brownies that Heather made, chicken tacos, pico de gallo, etc. Terry and I seemed to be out every morning and night spotlighting, chasin elk and callin coyotes. The soft forest rain was beautiful and the 70 degree temp in the daytime was welcoming after some hot summer months in the Phoenix heat.

Taylor 4th of July celebration

This weekend we decided to leave the heat and head up the mountain to spend some time with family and let Kamri see what Taylor is like for the first time.

The weather was so nice for a BBQ and time to just sit and chat while the kids played.

We took a Piñata for Jenny's 22nd birthday and the kids had fun with the spoils!

We ate some watermelon!

Hace 2 semanas estuvimos en el cumpleaños de Brisa, hija de unos muy buenos amigos de nosotros, y disfrutamos bastante estar ahi, fue en la alberca, asi que fue bien divertido, creo que mas para Tim, y para Connor la piñata y los dulces! y para mi tambien la alberca pero creo mas la comida!
Tim esta enseñando a Connor a tener mas confianza en el, al estar en el agua, al brincar hacia su papa, en fin, y lo logro esa tarde, Connor se ve muy seguro.
Al salir de la fiesta no pasaron ni 5 minutos, Connor estaba ya en el 2do. sueño.

Asi es, Tim cumplio 26!!, y como siempre el y yo hablamos de que rapido se pasa el tiempo. Nos casamos cuando el tenia 22 y yo 21, despues tuvimos a Connor y ya casi nace el 2do. Claro, estamos felices de que nuestra vida juntos, como familia se llene de estos momentos y sobretodo de integrantes!

I have been thinking about Peru a lot lately and I was thinking about once when I was standing in a line at a bank and inside the bank, a song came on called HOY by Gloria Estefan. She went to Cuzco and filmed this song. It came out about 3 months or so before I was called to serve in Cuzco for a year. The youtube video just helps me remember where I served and the beautiful country!

My wife and I have attended a Spanish ward ever since we were married. I enjoy speaking with the Chilenos, Peruanos, Bolivianos, Argentinos, Hondurenos and everyone else. Ward parties are a lot of fun because of all the different cultures and foods. ANYWAY, in church last week, the bishop announced 3 new families that are new to the ward. Well one of the wives of a young married couple stood up and I recognized her! I couldnt remember exactly where she was from or where I had met her until the bishop read her name. Doris! Then it jumped into my head, her maiden name was ORTEGA. She served in my mission as a mini missionary for 6 weeks when we had an odd number of sisters. I flipped out! As soon as sacrament was over,I went and talked to her. It was so funny! Such a small world. Pres. Weston had me interview her when I was an AP and talk to her stake pres in Maranga to make sure she would be a good candidate to serve in our mission for 6 weeks. I went to her house and explained the situation to her mom and gave her mom the missions number to call if she needed anything from her daughter for the next 6 weeks. For 6 weeks she was one of our sisters. Pres Weston always worried for the sisters because of the dangerous areas they were sometimes in.
They look like a great couple that will help the ward and I am excited for some comida peruana! Lomo saltado, lengua de vaca, papa a la huancaina, pollo a la braza, milanesa, cuy!

So this is Valentina. Connor's first kiss. Little man got taken advantage of by this girl that is 6 months older than him. I missed it too! They were in front of everyone in sunday school and since I am the ward mission leader, I missed it! I am always teaching the gospel principles class so......I wasn't there to address the issue. Everyone in class thought that it was cute. I on the other hand did not, now look at them. They go everywhere together. Soon they will be in nursery together and I will have to keep an eye on them to make sure that they behave. Here they are at a ward christmas party together. Little man gets kinda scared at times, but you can tell he likes the attention. :)

We woke up at 4:30 this morning and walked up the Hayden Preserve above ASU. It was fun to see the valley and get out early without Connor and spend some time together. My New Gun

So, here are a few pictures with my newest gun, I think it is called an SP220??

*It is the only gun that I have that was made in CHINA!

*It features two five shot magazines with bullets included.

*It does not have a lifetime warranty though! So I need to keep the thing in its case and not shoot it much.

What I do know is that my wife does NOT like it! If she is in the kitchen and I just want to let her know that I am around, I might shoot a bullet into the kitchen to scare her, or.....shoot Connor in the diaper. He actually likes it! I was shooting the wall with it the other day while he was in the tub and all of my bullets were hitting the wall above him. He was laughing and laughing. My wife still doesnt like it. The Utah Reeds came down to visit the AZ Reeds and we had alot of fun this week. It was really busy, but we did have alot of fun spending time together as a family! Finally all of the grandkids were together and another on the way! We are growing as a family and it is alot of fun when we are finally all off of work and school and can spend some time together.

The Lees have been telling us for about a year to come up to Thatcher and visit them. We have always wanted to and finally on Conference weekend we got in the car and took off. It was a lot of fun to see Titan and to let Connor have a playmate for a day. He Loved the Furniture in their house and found little distractions here and there. He found new toys and did really good with Titan. Terry and I went shooting, Terry took his black powder rifle, his SKS, .22, and Shotgun and I took my Glock and a couple hundred rounds and we went up to some hills and had a lot of fun shooting. The girls wanted some time away from the kids so they went to get pedicures done when we got back and then we all went bowling. Cindy and I took up some Carne Asada to cook on Terry's grill and we ate, ran to Dairy Queen and then I made Terry get out his guit-fiddle to play a few songs and remember our pre married lives and laugh about funny stories as roomates with Sam and Taylor. Fun stuff! We woke up and drove back home after the Sunday session and saw the temple site in Pima. Fun trip, we definitely want to go again! Thanks Again Lee Family!

Cindy and I both love the Holiday Season and the lights and Spirit of this time of year and since we aren't in an Apartment Complex this Christmas we have been excited to decorate outside. I was humbled by the house next door, since everyone seems to try to beat their neighbors right! I didn't even try to compete. I just did the best that I could with what I had. I kept looking out the window in the month of November and everytime that I did I saw like 40 PEOPLE working on my neighbors Christmas lights. So since I am pretty much on my own until Connor gets bigger and he can scamper up the trees, I have decided to accept defeat. I am very competitive but....I can't take on 40 people right? So I am posting my christmas light display and my neighbors and you can tell me which is better!

Though some might think of this time in Connor's life insignificant, I am really enjoying it. I have hardly worked any Over Time this last month because I want to be at home. I don't want to go anywhere else but home to relax with my family of three. Simple life style and simple plan, but that is what I want. When I am at work, gym or at a church meeting I just want to get home. I enjoy the feeling of him sleeping on my chest and the comfort of knowing that he is ok. What a beautiful feeling! We have been blessed for having invited him into our home. His simple smiles lighten our day so much.

So today I changed Connor into an ASU outfit so that I wouldnt feel alone when watching the Game against Georgia, I felt that Georgia was going to walk all over ASU (which they DID!) so I wanted my son there with me to cheer on the Devils. It was our first game to watch together and he handled it pretty good. He started biting his nails in the first quarter, which was good because mine where gone before the opening kickoff.

Cindy came in and took a picture of us (she usually doesn't like it when I watch football cuz she likes soccer n baseball) and let us watch it. Thanks Mom! We took him out alittle today and he enjoyed it! He went to see his great grumps for the first time and show him his little DEVILS shirt.

YA RIGHT!! You look at these pictures and think that the kid is a great sleeper. . . right?? After contemplating for hours, I have come to the conclusion that he is a bat. All day he can be wrapped up in a blanket and zonked out, or he puts on this move of a MODEL trying to show how a baby is "supposed" to sleep with both hands under his cheeks. Right, just like in all the kids books. Then, starting at 10 p.m. - 4 a.m. he has to wake up and feed! Like every 30 minutes this little guy starts up his pistons and wakes the whole house up. I wish he would start his fussy business about 4 a.m. when I have to wake up anyway, but at 10 p.m. when I want to go to sleep it is just upside down!

Baby Connor!

Baby Connor finally decided to join us late last night. Cindy was induced on Monday the 1st of Sept. at 3 p.m. We went in in a very tranquil state. No pressure or pains, just wanting to see our little man. Cindy was all hooked up to the machines and started her Patosin, she was having contractions every 4-5 minutes but they weren't hurting her very badly. She continued with the same contractions for the next 14 hours. The doctor came in and broke Cindy's water with the hopes that she would advance quicker after the water had broken. Her contractions started to increase and become stronger and that brought more pain. She received her epidural Tuesday a.m. at around 9. That calmed her pain and she was able to relax, all night she hadn't been able to sleep a wink. We kept watching her and checking her dilation all through the day and she was going really slow. After about 30 hours the nurse said that she was dilated to a 9 and so she called the doctor. The doctor came in at about 11 p.m. Tuesday night and said that Cindy was dilated and 100% effaced. We were so excited, Cindy was really happy because she was emotionally and physically drained after not having eaten in 32 hours! ( except for a bite from one of uncle Jay's Krispy Kreme donuts and some smarties that I was feeding her between the checkups)

Finally we were able to buckle down and start pushing. (I say "we" because I about had a hernia from doing exactly what Cindy was doing to try to show her how to push!) The doctor was excited for Cindy's progress and finally after about 30 minutes of pushing. He came free. His chord was wrapped around his neck and that caused him to have some breathing problems at first. Connor weighed in at a whoppin 8 lbs 14 oz and we were excited to see his size. Cindy didn't even get to hold him because they just whisked him away to a different area in the hospital. The doctor is a great guy and looked at us and said that Connor would be fine, they just want to make sure he got a clear air passage and then they would bring him in. The doc finished his business and Cindy started to stand up and move around. We were moved to our room where I was finally able to set up camp and we were able to get some rest. They finally brought Connor in at around 2 a.m. he was born at 11:32 on September 2nd. Cindy finally was able to hold him and start feeding and he latched on really well and stayed there for about 35 minutes, going to town! The nurses then took him for 2 hours so that Cindy could sleep and promised to bring him back when it was time for him to eat again. I was snoozin on the couch in our room when they brought him in and I seriously didn't hear anything until I felt Cindy hit me with a bag of little debbie donuts. She said that she was calling my name and I just wouldn't wake up. So the fam all came over in the a.m. and took pics and then almost everyone took off and here I am, sittin here with my delivery service food and the "cookie lady" who brings cookies around to everyone at 11 a.m. every day just brought me like 6 big cookies, so I am in no hurry to leave! Life is good and Connor is breathing better so we are all happy! We will post pictures when I get home where my camera cable is. Hasta luegito!

We were given 5 free tickets this week so we went twice to see the dbacks play. Baseball is really the only sport that we can sit and watch together. Cindy loves watching baseball! She doesnt like it when I watch football, basketball or UFC so.....baseball it is!

Some ladies from the Spanish Branch where we attended for 19 months in Gilbert called Cindy and wanted to have a small baby shower with just the ladies from the branch. So these are some pics from the small shower that they had at the branch building. Cindy enjoyed herself and she had fun seeing some sisters the she hadn't seen for a few months. My favorite part was that a family from Peru just came back from a 2 month trip to Peru and they brought me back some Sumblime Blancos. My favorite chocolate from there!

A few weeks ago I took the Priests and Teachers to a Priesthood activity in our ward. We went to Canyon lake and we had a lot of fun. I came back burned and with a headache, but it was fun to get out and learn how to swim again. It has been a long time since I had to swim farther than a pool's length. But the great thing about me is that I float! I just roll over on my back and that is my life saver! We planned on going cliff jumping while we were there and as you can see, I had to be the first in the water and the first to jump. The young men were all talking it up and then when it came down to it, nobody wanted to be the
first to jump! The whole way there they were in the back seat saying how high they were going to jump from and bla bla bla. I didn't even think that I would have to get wet. But the trip was going to be a waste if nobody got in the water right?? So as you can see, I forgot to take my wallet out of my pocket when I got in the water! GOOD ONE TIM!!

Today we went to the doctor to see the 3D-4D images of the baby. It was fun to see him moving and grabbing his toes and opening his eyes. He weighs 3 lbs. 12 ounces right now and so he is moving right along. We still have 2 months and 2 days for him to cook and hopefully he will stay in there full term and grow healthy and strong. We are enjoying where we are living across the street from the Mesa Temple. We can go on walks around it at night and it makes you feel comfortable and brings a great spirit! We are excited to head bad to Taylor for the 4th of July celebrations and hopefully we will see some of you all when we are there!
