Cindy n Friends

Some ladies from the Spanish Branch where we attended for 19 months in Gilbert called Cindy and wanted to have a small baby shower with just the ladies from the branch. So these are some pics from the small shower that they had at the branch building. Cindy enjoyed herself and she had fun seeing some sisters the she hadn't seen for a few months. My favorite part was that a family from Peru just came back from a 2 month trip to Peru and they brought me back some Sumblime Blancos. My favorite chocolate from there!

Cliff Jumping

A few weeks ago I took the Priests and Teachers to a Priesthood activity in our ward. We went to Canyon lake and we had a lot of fun. I came back burned and with a headache, but it was fun to get out and learn how to swim again. It has been a long time since I had to swim farther than a pool's length. But the great thing about me is that I float! I just roll over on my back and that is my life saver! We planned on going cliff jumping while we were there and as you can see, I had to be the first in the water and the first to jump. The young men were all talking it up and then when it came down to it, nobody wanted to be the
first to jump! The whole way there they were in the back seat saying how high they were going to jump from and bla bla bla. I didn't even think that I would have to get wet. But the trip was going to be a waste if nobody got in the water right?? So as you can see, I forgot to take my wallet out of my pocket when I got in the water! GOOD ONE TIM!!

Baby Connor

Today we went to the doctor to see the 3D-4D images of the baby. It was fun to see him moving and grabbing his toes and opening his eyes. He weighs 3 lbs. 12 ounces right now and so he is moving right along. We still have 2 months and 2 days for him to cook and hopefully he will stay in there full term and grow healthy and strong. We are enjoying where we are living across the street from the Mesa Temple. We can go on walks around it at night and it makes you feel comfortable and brings a great spirit! We are excited to head bad to Taylor for the 4th of July celebrations and hopefully we will see some of you all when we are there!

Edlin's Games

I love Saturdays, I woke up before the Sun and weeded my flower bed and gave them water. Then washed the car and cleaned it nicely. Then I went inside and made eggs and chorizo with pancakes on the side. Saturdays and Sundays are my days to cook and I like it. Cindy's dad came by to finish off the leftovers. We called up Brookly and planned to each lunch with them. We met Brookly and Lathe with the kiddos at Native to eat lunch and had a good time eating wings and talking "baby talk." Today was nice family time because then we took off and went to register at Babyies R Us because Cindy was the first councilor in the relief society in the ward that we were in for the first 19 months that we were married and now the President wants her to register somewhere so that the sisters in the ward have somewhere to go to purchase gifts for Cindy's shower. All I have to say is I HATE SHOPPING!!! ( Unless I am in Bass pro shop)
I do enjoy the first 20 minutes, and then I start getting anxious to leave! Cindy could stay looking at baby clothes all day! So we stayed a long time ( like 3 hours) in one store and then we went to Edlin's soccer tournament. Her team lost in the final game, but she had some good games! She mad
e the first goal of the tourny championship so it was fun! Here we are burned and tired of sitting in the sun so we found some shade.

Memorial weekend

On Memorial weekend we decided to just get out of town and enjoy some fresh air! We left Saturday A.M. with some friends and stopped off at Montezuma Castle to see some new sites. We traveled up to Flagstaff and the funny part for me was that the whole time I felt like I was going to participate in a "sandlot" hurling session because I was sitting in the backseat. I couldn't believe how long it had been since I went on a trip in the back seat!! I am so accustomed to watching the road!! But, I kept it to myself and just tried to enjoy the trip. Our friends offered to drive and so I just kicked back and enjoyed the view. Cindy was watching Connor move and kick the whole trip and that is amusing on its own! Sometimes I hear Cindy start giggling softly and I will look over at her and she is touching her belly "Hi Fiving " my little man. It is fun to see Cindy enjoying her pregnancy! We had fun chatting and getting to know our friends better as well. We used to be their single adult advisers before they were married. Once at Flag and went out to eat, checked in our room and then went at night to the Observatory.

We had fun seeing the satellite and going on some tours. Then we were able to see the moon and things! I think I enjoyed it more then Cindy though. I love stars and looking at constellations. They have so many pictures of deep space phenomenons that are just fascinating. (Some nights I go out to water my lawn or flowers and it is good thinking time. I love it! The planes that come in every 47 seconds get annoying, but the temple really adds to the spirit and it is great meditating time where I can leave the fast paced world and focus on something inner, something more personal. I love to reflect on my mission and Peru and far away places and friends!) We then woke up and went to church. We enjoyed the ward we went to. They were really nice! Then we took a long nap! We woke up and went on a drive to Oak Creek Canyon and down into Sedona. It was so relaxing! I loved the views and the wind up there was really strong and beautiful! I loved the
clean air! We took a few pics and here are a few.

On our way back up the mtn we saw alot of elk and stopped to take pics of them. There was like 18 and they were just sitting there on the side of the road so I got out and hopped the guard rail to see how close I could get to them since they were just sitting there eating. I got a great shot of one of their BEHINDS! (It made me remember the time right out of high school when Terry, Ira, Chase and I were hanging out with some girls in Round Valley and we came upon a massive heard of Elk and we chased them and almost got ran over) When we got back to the Hotel we had a hilariously competitive game of Monopoly. The next morning we went to Sedona and spent the day there. It was a nice trip and we made some good memories!
I had to do some catch up when we got home on some yard work and plant some flowers that I bought right before the trip. It was fun to get back home and do some work outside in the yard!
